Vit Jedli?ka has been actively involved in the liberty movement since his early high school years. A pivotal turning point that transformed his thinking was reading Frédéric Bastiat. Jedli?ka received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Economics, Prague, Czech Republic, in 2009, with a thesis on central banking and monetary policy. He later founded a libertarian educational NGO whose video channels have accumulated more than 20 million views. He earned his Master’s degree in Political Science from the CEVRO Institute in 2014, completing his final thesis on Global Governance.
On Monday, April 13, 2015, he founded the Free Republic of Liberland and was elected its first President. In the span of eight years, well over half a million people have registered and applied to become citizens. He has been profiled in The New York Times Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, and USA Today, and has been interviewed on Fox Business Network, Bloomberg Television, Euronews, and many other TV networks. He has also spoken at dozens of conferences, including the Horasis Global Meeting, TEDx, FreedomFest, Blockchain Summit, the ALEC Meeting, and the St. Gallen Symposium. Since the foundation of Liberland, President Vit Jedli?ka and his team have promoted the nation worldwide, seeking international recognition.
His vision and mission to create the freest jurisdiction on the planet continue to gain momentum. The Free Republic of Liberland aims to set an example and inspire change globally through blockchain technologies and decentralized applications, where fairness, transparency, security, and prosperity for its citizens are the rule of the day — and where “live and let live” is the guiding principle.
