A passionate tech entrepreneur, executive and investor, Gabriela built businesses and teams in tech and digital health in Miami and Latin America for 20+ years; she is currently building sales and operational teams in digital health, web3, and education.
Gabriela focuses on sales and strategy for value-based care and new care delivery models. She is Co-Founder & CEO of Cloodie and Quralo, driving clinical and operational efficiencies in EHR. Quralo impacts population health through screening, AI/Analytics, SDOH, and telemedicine. Health Semantics prevents chronic conditions like diabetes via digital health and in-person programs. Gabriela led the $3.5M Series A round at a MedTech startup in cardiology. She was co-investigator in an NIH COVID-19 grant with LO and the University of Miami to study the link between saliva microbiome and severe COVID-19, and was selected as part of the first cohort of EndeavorLAB by the City of Miami & Facebook, focusing on Latino health.
She co-founded Primero3 educational marketplace and advises GenoBank.io, a web3 startup of bio-NFT solutions for genomic data, and is a member of Developer DAO, Women Build Web3, JOAN DAO, and JPEG Morgan.
As Executive Director of SoftBank’s $150M venture capital fund for Latin America, she invested in tech startups and served on the board of 5 portfolio companies in Miami and in Latin America, with a sales focus. As CEO of Tiaxa, a venture-backed leader in mobile software, fintech nano credits, and AI, she pivoted the company to profitability and global expansion. As General Manager and CTO of 8 IBM Central America country operations, GBM Corp, Gabriela built businesses and sales teams in telecom, Internet, and fintech, contributing to sales growth from $50M to $150M in less than 4 years, having P&L responsibility for $90M. She founded GBnet, her first exit, acquired by British Telecom for $20M+. At IBM, she founded the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division and held systems engineering roles at Hewlett-Packard.
Gabriela is a passionate contributor to the Miami and LatAm’s health and tech ecosystems. She co-founded (and serves on the board of) the Society for HealthCare Innovation, sits on the Board of Advisors of MDC’s Idea Center, and is a PennParent Council Member and FIU Senior Panelist. She was Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Babson WIN Lab and lectured at the University of Miami Business School. She co-organized/judged MIT Hacking Medicine, and was a 2016/7/8 Finalist for the “Female Leader in Tech†Award from the Greater Miami Chamber, eMerge Americas Advisory Board, Refresh Miami, SoFlo Tech Alliance, and founded an educational nonprofit.
